Markus Grimm

Dr Markus Grimm, born in 1968 and living in Iffeldorf, south of Munich, is a passionate people photographer with a particular preference for black and white images. In 2019, the doctor of physics rediscovered his old love of photography, which began as a teenager with an analogue Canon AE-1. But what was once just a hobby has now become an intense means of expression for him: "Photography is like snapping pictures, just more intense" he says.

Markus' photographic focus is on portraiture and nudes, often placing the human body in harmonious contrast to natural landscapes. He is particularly fascinated by the unspoilt mountain landscapes of his home country, where he captures the connection between man and nature in unique compositions. These outdoor motifs create a special atmosphere that Markus masterfully captures through the use of light and shadow.

A central element of his work is water, which plays an important role in many of his portraits. Markus loves to use the softness of water surfaces and the resulting reflections to subtly enhance the aesthetics of his models. Whether by the sea or on lakes, the liquid element adds an extra dimension to his images, allowing the human body to enter into an almost poetic dialogue with nature. While the water appears in its softness or infinity, the human being brings a dynamic and tangible presence to the scene, giving the images a particular depth and expressiveness.

Markus is also interested in street photography, using urban scenes and their moods as a backdrop for his portraits. The combination of people and cityscapes creates a very unique aesthetic for him, which is reflected in the subtle tension between the two poles.

In addition to his Sony equipment, the versatile photographer particularly appreciates his Leica M Monochrom, which allows him a slowed-down, purist photographic experience. Combined with analogue lenses, it allows him to create timeless, artistically challenging work characterised by reduction and precision.

Icons such as Andreas Jorns and Stefan Beutler shape his style without obscuring his own unmistakable signature. Markus knows how to place the aesthetics of the human body in a harmonious dialogue with its surroundings - be it raw nature or urban landscapes - always leaving room for emotion and depth.

10Photos says: Dr Markus Grimm's images captivate us with their clean, minimalist aesthetic and the subtle power of their staging. His portraits not only capture the external appearance of his models, but also convey a deep emotional connection between people and their surroundings. The use of black and white photography enhances the focus on form, light and shadow, giving the images a timeless and haunting quality. Markus' sense of the right moment and his ability to combine the beauty of the human body with nature or urban landscapes make his work a visual experience that lingers, sometimes through its simplicity, sometimes through its richness of detail. We see photographs of the highest level and are more than delighted.

Necessary note on the subject of "buttocks and breasts" on the Internet: Dear young visitor. If you are not yet 16 years old, unfortunately you are not allowed to view these artistic and sensual photos. Please leave this site now. Alternatively you can go to a public swimming pool, there you will surely find enough women with naked torso. Or look at the lightly clothed girls on the billboards in the city. That is also allowed. Not here! Please close your eyes immediately and scream for help ...
