Paul Zizka

Paul is known for his adventurous spirit, which takes him to extraordinary lengths, whether it be wading in a glacial lake or chasing the Northern Lights from dusk to dawn. His collection includes characterful self-portraits, epic mountaineering moments, dreamy astrophotography and insights into some of the most remote corners of the globe.

A passionate globetrotter, he travelled to all seven continents and every province and territory in Canada. He has hiked extensively in the Canadian Rockies and photographed from many mountain peaks. His overseas expeditions include a 1400km double circumnavigation of Iceland on foot - a pioneering feat - and a 1488km solo crossing of the South Island of New Zealand. He has also explored and photographed Antarctica, Norway, Svalbard, Nepal, Greenland, the Caribbean, Niue, French Polynesia, Namibia, the Faroe Islands, Baffin Island and the Torngat Mountains.

In 2016, Paul co-founded OFFBEAT with Dave Brosha to help other photographers discover their creativity and develop a deep appreciation for wilderness. He shares his passion for the beauty of his home country and was named a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society in 2017.

Paul's images have been published in prestigious publications such as National Geographic, Outside Magazine and Canadian Geographic, have graced the covers of numerous books, and have won numerous prestigious awards. His commitment to conservation is reflected in his photographs, which also serve to preserve and strengthen the precious connection between people and the wonders of our planet.
