Silke Hüttche - Bird & macro photography

Silke Hüttche is a passionate and creative nature photographer who has her roots in the Wittgensteiner Land but has lived in Wuppertal since the 1990s. Most of her stunning images are taken here and in the surrounding areas of the Ruhr and Bergisches Land.

Silke likes to describe herself as an enthusiastic "urban birder" from Wuppertal. She always has a camera in her handbag - often with a telephoto lens - and loves to be out and about in all weathers. She is particularly fond of bird photography and describes herself as a flock addict. But Silke's photographic interests are not limited to birds. She also photographs drops, cobwebs, plants, animals and misty landscapes - anything that catches her eye and inspires her.

While Silke used to focus on capturing her subjects as sharply as possible, she now concentrates on aesthetic and minimalist nature photography. She always tries to reinterpret everyday things and give them a new meaning through the lens. It is important to her that a photograph conveys a mood or tells a story. This often results in images that show her very own view of nature and consciously deviate from pure documentation.

Silke's unique approach to photography and her ability to capture moods and stories in her images, as well as the unusual combination of urban elements and wildlife, set her photographs apart from those of other nature photographers. She shows us the beauty of nature from her personal perspective and invites us to see the world through her eyes.

It is a fascinating diversity that is not only based on the motifs, but also on the changing way she photographs. Sometimes dynamic and exciting, sometimes quiet and decelerated. Then again, colourful and brilliant, but also restrained and very gentle. Silke always manages to capture the beauty and diversity of our natural world effectively and accurately. Through her view of the world, we often see everyday things in ways we never expected. We marvel at her incredible creativity and can say without a doubt: this is nature photography at its finest.
